Mentoring Program

First- and Second-Year Mentor Programs

At J. Sterling Morton High School District 201, we are committed to supporting the growth, development, and success of our new teachers. Our Mentoring Program is designed to provide guidance, encouragement, and professional support as educators transition into our district and become part of the Morton community.

All new teachers are paired with a dedicated mentor for their first two years in the district through our First-Year Mentoring Program and Second-Year Mentoring Program. These programs provide ongoing opportunities for collaboration, reflection, and professional growth while helping new teachers build confidence, strengthen instructional practices, and navigate their roles within the district.

Our mentors are experienced educators who have completed the required training and certification to ensure they are well-prepared to provide meaningful, high-quality support. Through these mentoring relationships, we strive to create a welcoming, collaborative environment where new teachers feel supported and empowered to succeed.

Mentor Coordinators

Each building has designated Mentor Coordinators who facilitate the program and serve as a resource for both new teachers and mentors.
